HSIL & LISL

High grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (HSIL)

If your pap or cervical smear has reported LSIL then you need Human papilloma virus (HPV) testing to decide further management.

LSIL and HPV negative:

– Repeat co-testing in one year then 3 year if HPV stays negative and smear reports cells are normal.

– However at any point HPV becomes positive or cells show any abnormality then colposcopy should be planned.

LSIL and HPV positive or not done:

– Colposcopic biopsy.
